Last week, we hosted our Cultural Tour Evening, bringing together excited participants as they prepare for an unforgettable journey to Japan! 🇯🇵✈️ The 20 selected students will immerse themselves in Japanese culture through a homestay experience and a visit to one of our partner schools in Osaka. 🎌🏫 📢 Reminder: Applications were due on Friday, 21st March. Ruari Shines at NSWCCC Aquathlon! 🥇 On Thursday December 19, Ruari competed in the NSWCCC Aquathlon, a 200m swim followed by a 1.8km run. He placed 3rd in the Male 12/13 heats, then improved his time in the final to place 1st in the Male 12s! 💪👏 Amazing effort—congratulations, Ruari! 🎉

Last Friday, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our friends from Kozoji High School with a special celebration during Session 3! 🇯🇵🤝🇦🇺 Our guests enjoyed delicious Aussie treats alongside the friendships they built with Santa Sophia students. They shared farewell speeches, received awards to mark their successful completion of the international program, and created lasting memories. Middle School of Excellence – Adolescent Success 🌟 Santa Sophia Catholic College’s School of Connect has been recognised as a Middle School of Excellence by Adolescent Success, an esteemed endorsement program for middle years education across Australasia. This recognition reflects our dedication to fostering student-centred learning, wellbeing, smooth transitions, a strong middle school identity, innovative pedagogy, teacher development, and student engagement during this crucial stage of education. We are incredibly proud of the culture and community we are building for our middle years students and extend our gratitude to the staff, students, and families who contribute to this success. A special congratulations to Mr Jeff Phillips (Head of School) and Ms Allison Gardiner (Assistant Principal) for their leadership and dedication in preparing a strong application that led to this recognition.
